Welcome to in2 collect
This guide gets you from sign-up to your first AI-powered chase in about ten minutes. in2 collect connects to your accounting ledger and runs your whole credit-control process — chasing, replies, payments and credit risk — so you get paid faster without the manual grind.
1. Get set up (5 minutes)
2. Your dashboard
The dashboard gives you a CFO-grade view of where your cash is, updated from your live ledger:
- Total outstanding — everything currently owed to you across open invoices.
- Overdue — what’s past its due date and needs attention.
- Forecast to collect — the cash in2 collect predicts will land in the next 7 days, based on who really pays on time.
- Aged debt — your balance bucketed by how late it is (current, 1–30, 31–60, 61–90, 90+ days).
- Forecast cash — a four-week view of expected collections.
3. The collections workspace & AI chasing
This is where you work your overdue invoices. The table shows each invoice with its customer, amount, days late, a risk rating and a predicted pay date. Use the filter chips to focus:
- Needs attention today — the priority queue to work first.
- All open, Overdue, Promised, Disputed — switch views as you go.
To chase an invoice: click any row. The panel on the right shows an AI-drafted chase email, tone-matched to the customer and how late they are. You can switch the tone between Gentle, Firm and Final, edit the text, then:
- Approve & send — sends the chase from your own domain.
- Create pay link — adds a one-click payment link to the email (see section 5).
- Log promise to pay — when a customer commits to a date.
- Mark disputed — flag a query so it’s tracked separately.
4. The reply & dispute inbox The difference
Most tools only send reminders. in2 collect handles what comes back. In the Reply inbox tab, the AI reads each debtor reply and works out what it means:
- Promise to pay — extracts the date and logs it against the invoice.
- Says already paid — flags it to reconcile against your bank feed.
- Dispute — pulls out the disputed amount and reason, and routes it.
- Wants a copy — drafts a response with the invoice attached.
For each reply you get a suggested response — review it, then Approve & send (or Skip). No more “I already paid” emails piling up unanswered.
5. One-click pay links
Every chase can carry a Pay now link. Click Create pay link on an invoice and in2 collect generates a secure payment link (card or UK bank) and drops it into the email. Your customer taps, pays in seconds, and the invoice reconciles itself — moving to Paid and dropping out of your outstanding, overdue and forecast figures automatically.
6. Credit control & risk scoring
The Credit control tab helps you stop bad debt before it starts. Click Run credit check and every customer is scored:
- Risk band & score — Low / Medium / High, from 0–100, based on real payment behaviour plus live Companies House data (company status, overdue accounts, age).
- Exposure & limit — how much they currently owe vs a recommended credit limit you can override.
- Alerts — flags when a customer goes over limit, turns high-risk, or shows an adverse Companies House status.
Verify the company match. Under each customer you’ll see its Companies House match. Click verify to pick the exact registered company from the shortlist — this locks the credit data to the right company so the scores are accurate.
7. Managing your connection
- Refresh — pulls the latest from Xero on demand (it also syncs automatically in the background).
- Disconnect — removes in2 collect’s access to your Xero data at any time, from the top bar. This revokes the connection at Xero immediately.
